The Great Gatsby: 21st Century, Two Generations Later

Post by Guest on Sun Apr 03, 2011 4:27 pm

It's "The Great Gatsby" all over again!! Sort of.....
But this time, we are introduced to all of the characters' grandchildren (just pretend Gatsby had a child before he died, and pretend the Wilsons did too.) And, it's set in a high school! You even get to decide on the ending. Does Gatsby's grandson really die? And what about the Wilsons' grand-daughter? Do Daisy and Tom's grand-daughter end up with Gatsby's grandson?

Characters (only the names will be given to you, you decide the rest!)

Name: Jack Gatsby (Jay Gatsby's grandson)
Age/Grade:
Appearance:
Personality:
Bio:
Hobbies:

Name: Sarah Buchanon (Daisy and Tom's grand-daughter)

Name: Jeremy Samson (He has no relation to any of the original characters in the book, he's just Sarah's boyfriend)
Age/Grade:

Name: Nate Carraway (Nick's grandson)

Name: Jackie Wilson (Myrtle and George's granddaughter---Jeremy is cheating on Sarah with her)
Age/Grade:

Hobbies:

Name: Laura Baker (Jordan's granddaughter) *TAKEN (by me....sorry)*
Age/Grade: Junior, 17
Appearance:
Personality: She's rather flaky, and dishonest at times (normally just when playing tennis)
Bio: She lives in an extremely large house with her parents, although the two of them are not always home all of the time---her father is a businessman who loves to travel, and her mother (Jordan's daughter), takes after Jordan; she loves to go out to clubs and party frequently.
Hobbies: Tennis (no, she has not taken after her grandmother, who plays golf), talking to Nate, having parties at her large house, or going to other parties.

Name: Sam Wolfsheim (Meyer Wolfsheim's grandson, one of Jack's close friends)
Age/Grade:
Appearance:
Personality:
Bio:
Hobbies:

Rules/Suggestions:

1) It is HIGHLY suggested that you read the book. If you haven't: http://www.sparknotes.com/lit/gatsby/ <----READ
2) If you REALLY want to be in this RPG, and all of the characters have been taken, then you can create another character---just try to come up with a character who can somehow fit into the plotline.
3) Please, please, please....only come up with a character if the others are taken, or if you would like to double. Or, you can play more than one of the characters listed above.
4) Laura Baker, Jordan's granddaughter, is TAKEN. Sorry!

----This has been rated mature, just in case. You have been warned.----

I'll be Jeremy Samson. By the way, "Buchanan" is the spelling for Tom and Daisy's kid's last name.

(It's all good, just mentioning it.
I had to read this for school. It was one of the only books I actually liked.)

(Haha, same! I've read it so many times, and I LOVE it. That and "The Catcher In The Rye" are my top two favorites.)

Name: Sarah Buchanon (Daisy and Tom's grand-daughter)
Age/Grade: Junior, 17
Appearance:
Personality: Sarah is fun-loving, a flirt, and frivolous. She takes after her grandmother exactly. She is selfish, and spoiled, but also charming.
Bio: She is extraordinarily wealthy. She lives in a large mansion-home, where she is used to getting everything she wants. Her father (Daisy's son) took after his father (Tom Buchanon) and is perfectly fine as long as he is in control, but if he doesn't get things his way he begins to get abusive. Her mother died during childbirth.
Hobbies: She loves singing, and dancing.
